Behind The Seeds Greenhouse Tour

We took the Behind the Seeds tour during EPCOT’s Glimmering Greenhouses, and it’s one of those experiences that quietly reminds you why EPCOT still matters. You walk through the working greenhouses that support Living with the Land and get a deeper look at how Disney approaches sustainability, hydroponics, and plant science. Even having ridden Living with the Land many times, it felt almost otherworldly to be backstage while the boats floated by below, full of guests waving up at us. Total perspective flip. Our tour guide, Andy (no relation to the kid who owned Woody and Buzz), was fantastic. Every obscure, hyper-specific question our group asked was met with thoughtful, confident answers. He clearly knows his stuff and enjoys sharing it. The many holiday touches during Glimmering Greenhouses made the experience feel extra special, including meeting Stanley, the plant that dramatically recoils when touched and steals the show. Small group, relaxed pace, and a completely different way to experience a familiar attraction. If you love EPCOT at its most curious and quietly magical, this tour is absolutely worth your time.

Such a blast. My son and i did this together in 2023 when he was 6. We plan on doing it again in 2026 on our next trip. So fun, he asks lots of questions and the guide was happy to talk to him about everything. Highly recommend for all ages.

Really fun greenhouse tour - about an hour, lots of cool facts from the Cast Member who serves as tour guide. Young kiddos may struggle.

This was a very nice tour behind the scenes in The Land ride at Epcot. Very informative. They only allow about twelve at a time on the tour and it is guided.

One of the best parts about this tour is that you don’t need to be a gardening enthusiast to appreciate it. The tour is designed to be accessible and fascinating for all guests regardless of gardening knowledge. That said, if you are a gardener or someone with an interest in sustainability, hydroponics, or food production, you’ll find the experience especially rewarding. From seeing futuristic growing systems in action to learning about Disney’s efforts toward sustainable agriculture, this tour offers a “behind the scenes” peek at something truly magical happening right under our noses. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to do something a little different at EPCOT, it’s educational, inspiring, and just plain cool. I recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. We actually purchased our tickets several months ahead of our visit.
