Bordine's of Rochester Hills

I went to Bordines for their Christmas artificial stems to fill a vase I had. I was literally running around trying every stem like a chicken with its head cut off but just couldn’t find anything that worked. One of the workers popped up without even being asked and held an arrangement of stems for my vase and then added a few more till it looked great! I am very grateful for her help and will definitely be returning!

Great place for people with green thumbs. Staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Massive selection with good quantities of common plants but also includes unique finds. A little pricey but you'll leave happy with better plants than you expected.

Lots of plants to choose from. Weird in a good way I think but informational. Many different plants and humans of all kinds.

Today marked our final visit to Bordine’s. We’ve been loyal customers for years, but unfortunately, our experience has steadily declined—particularly since the pandemic. Prices continue to rise, which we understand to an extent, but what’s been far more disappointing is the consistent lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff. It’s disheartening to walk into a place we once enjoyed and be met with cold attitudes and dismissive behavior. On today’s visit, we interacted with four employees—only one of whom was kind or helpful. It’s become a pattern: staff avoiding eye contact, turning their backs, and showing visible annoyance when asked questions. That’s not acceptable. We’ve since discovered Deneweth’s and will gladly make the extra drive to be treated with respect. Writing a review like this isn’t something we take lightly, but being repeatedly treated poorly as a paying customer warrants honest feedback.

Bordines is great. Surprisingly the prices aren’t that bad, great selection of all plants, including vegetable starters. Got a great deal on a pack of lettuce too, cheaper and better quality than most other places. Can we somehow get bordines to replace English gardens? 😅 and get a few more stores all over metro detroit?!
