Mar 4, 2026Lovely botanical building with a variety of plants. It was nice and airy since the doors were kept open and mist was spraying from the walls. It’s free to enter. The pond out front was almost deserted, maybe due to the season. I just wish the names of the plants were displayed next to them, instead there is a QR code to learn about them.

Feb 12, 2026More about atmosphere than quantity. The building itself is the star, elegant, photogenic, and calming. The plant collection isn’t massive, but it’s enough to make the space feel alive. Great spot to pause during a walk in Balboa Park.

Feb 11, 2026Live music outside, gentle easy walk with unusual specimen plants inside. Right behind the large lily pad/turtle/koi pond. One of the most beautiful places in San Diego

Jan 19, 2026This is one of my favorite parts of Balboa Park. It is so beautiful from the building itself and the plants inside! It is free to get in the building. I saw lots of people taking photos and I do agree this is a great place to come take any special photos or fun selfies!
