Feb 5, 2026Beautiful gardens with many specimens you might not find anywhere else in the United States. The area is well shaded with huge trees, so even in hot weather the walk is pleasant. Tons of birds and butterflies, but mosquitoes as well, so wear bug spray. The front desk can give you some if you forgot it (might cost money). The paths are paved and most of the garden is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, but some of the plaques are difficult to read from a distance and you need to step off the path to check them out. Like most botanical gardens, you get a discount if you're a resident. Will be going back to try out the tours they have for free at 10:30 every day.

Jan 27, 2026This place was gorgeous, I had no idea this was in the middle of town. Definitely a cool experience considering the cityscape around this. Also, when I went around 2 PM on a weekday, it was very slow which added to my experience as I walked around the park. Perfect for families or small group groups!

Jan 25, 2026i got bite by mosquitoes, gift shop is expensive. But the park itself is very nice, admission price ticket is cheap (5usd) and you can have a nice day in Honolulu if you like it. Nice variety of plants, trees, and also wildlife. You can see trees from a every part of the world.

Jan 14, 2026A true gem! right in the heart of Hono. Many splendid sights, and well-curated grounds. Huge trees, and in some cases, ancient trees. The flower conservatory is absolutely gorgeous!
