May 21, 2025Great family-owned greenhouse. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection of healthy plants and beautiful arrangements at reasonable prices. You can get in and out quickly, but why would you want to? They are open much later in the season than many greenhouses. Look for late-season annuals at good prices here. Re-opens in late fall for holiday plants and events. Many seasonal special events, most with family-oriented crafts. Check for fall and winter holiday events; fun for all! As of 2020, Now offering curbside pickup in addition to in store shopping. Order online or by phone. Update: they close after the growing season to gear up for Fall, then they close after Fall to gear up for Christmas and the other winter holidays. They close till Spring after that. Update, 5/20/2025: Good news, they haven't changed!

Sep 1, 2024I visited Hessell's greenhouse a little later in the spring season looking to add some color to a shady area. The employee working was so sweet and helpful and the hanging baskets were all Buy one Get one free. Everything in the greenhouses was still in beautiful condition as well. Other greenhouses in the area were not in such good condition and their prices were higher than Hessel's regular price. I will be back in the fall as well as next year!

Jun 1, 2024Went to Hessell's today to purchase snap dragons. We took our puppy who weighs less than 7 pounds and he sat with his leash attached in the front of the cart. We talked with 2 different women who work there about their products and they both saw our puppy. We found our snap dragons and they only had 1 flat left of the short ones, which we wanted a short one and a tall flat of snap dragons. We took both and when I got to the cashier (Marlena) she was quite snappy and said NO DOGS ALLOWED. I said well, now is a great time to tell us, we have been through the entire greenhouse and spoke with 2 different workers. Maybe you should put that sign on the front door as there is only 1 sign and it was on the EXIT. I then explained about the flat of snap dragons and how the short flat was quite pathetic, plants missing (2 at least) and some were hanging down dead. She ignored me and then told me the price. I said am I getting nothing off of the flat and she then called someone and said you get less than $1.00 off (94 cents to be exact). Seriously? I have no idea who is running Hessell's now, but it is not the same individuals I have dealt with all the years I have been going here for about 20 years. Will I be back? Not too sure. A lot of greenhouses out there that are there to assist you and be courteous and have signs where you can read them about animals. The aggravation and snappy attitude was not worth my time.
