High-Hand Nursery

Beautiful cafe however both times we've been the food (and drinks) have been incredibly lackluster. I don't know how it's possible for a pizza that has bacon, blue cheese, pears, caramelized onions and fig reduction to taste like nothing but they managed to take a bunch of tasty foods and combined them into a bland expensive pizza. My husband got the tri tip sandwich and the meat wasn't seasoned at all. Supposedly it had blue cheese on it as well, couldn't taste it at all. The bread was all we could taste and it's wasn't even good. To top it off the bill came to $90. We won't make the mistake of coming again. We will be back for the plants but the cafe, although a great ambiance, has only been a disappointment.

I love high hand but I was there Sunday and had my usual with my friend. Had a open tab when I left I paid and left. Checked my account on Monday there was a extra charge for 44.07. Tried to call of course they are closed mondays and tuesdays. Will never have a open tab again will prolly never see my 44.07 again .too bad

Having lunch at the café was a treat under the outside ceiling heater. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The shrimp tacos were five stars for sure the friend I was with ordered cauliflower tacos and that was a big hit. Strolling around the nursery after the café had closed at 3 PM was an unexpected delight. I believe it closed at 5 PM so we had plenty of time to walk and chat and noticed the amazing artistry that goes into the nursery and the love that pours into the plants they sell there. Then, as we were leaving, we realize that there was another part of the nursery inside where we participated in a lovely olive oil tasting experience also with balsamic vinegar various flavors. We felt so welcome as we were learning about the olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the store. Julie who was the expert that worked there was a lot of fun. She helped us understand the pairings of the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I would probably go back just to visit the olive oil store because of Julie. She made the experience a lot of fun for us and I thank her for that. It was a special day that we were celebrating and she went out of her way to ask about it. We bought two bottles of the products and the freshly baked focaccia bread that we wouldn’t have bought if she wasn’t there to welcome us and together we learned and had fun with the tastings, we have a plan to come back with a friend and will return because of her!

I love this nursery, bar and restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere are all exceptional for the area. I always enjoy going to High Hand.

Amazing place for a weekend getaway with kids. Make sure you arrive an hour before you are hungry. Wait times are tentatively ~1-1.15 hrs. Service is great, food is fresh and tastes really good.
