Stopped in on a Thursday to enjoy the beautiful environment and had a lovely time! The conservatory and its plants/flowers are stunning, but we wanted to leave this review to highlight a wonderful volunteer named Christine who made our afternoon here one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago. Right upon entering, she approached us and offered to show us a few interesting plants near the main entrance. This turned into a personal tour of the entire Conservatory! For an hour, Christine took us around the various rooms and excitedly showed us everything there was to see and was the sweetest and friendliest person we could've asked to spend an afternoon with. We learned a ton about all of the different plants and their wellbeing. She was very welcoming and informative, both in regards to the Conservatory as well as Chicago in general (she gave us recommendations on places to go, things to see, and universities and careers which was great as one of us is applying to grad schools). She was a gem who went above and beyond to help make our time there extra special, and we're really grateful for that!! Thank you Christine <3

Conservatory is free but, you will likely end up paying the parking fee if visiting. Parking is about $30 for a full day. Was worth it to see such beautiful greenery, ecspcially in the winter when it is so dark and gloomy. Takes about an hour to walk through if you read all the educational signs, take your time, and take photos which I highly reccomend! Was easy to walk through and not many folks when we went.

A peaceful, succulent little oasis. A walk under huge leaves, through blooming flowers, and around glistening ponds left me full of serenity and awe. Amazing that this paradise is free 🪷🪻⛲️🌴

Gorgeoussssss. I went here on my last day in Chicago and I’m so happy I stopped by! It was beautiful. I love plants and there was clearly no shortage of them here. It was easy to get here by bus, too. It’s free but you have to do something on your phone first. I made a reservation ahead of time but you can do it there. Everyone seemed a little confused but the employees helped us.

The conservatory was surreal and beautifully maintained. You can tell a lot of care goes into keeping everything in great condition. That said, it was strange to see how close people were getting to the plants… some were literally brushing against them with jackets or bottles. There should be clearer rules or stricter enforcement to prevent this. Overall, the maintenance team is doing an excellent job, and better visitor awareness would make the experience even better.
