We had a great time. It was a fun experience and Abby was super helpful! Great for beginners and now we have something very pretty for our home! :)

My wife and I visited your location over the weekend to casually shop for new plants. After selecting two items, we proceeded to the checkout counter where we were assisted by Abby. While we were standing there ready to pay, the phone rang and she answered it, proceeding to handle the entire call while we waited, approx 10-12 minutes . As customers, we felt overlooked and disrespected. I would have been much more understanding had she briefly acknowledged us or asked the caller to hold while completing our transaction. Instead, there was no acknowledgment, and the line behind us continued to grow. Unfortunately, this experience has left a negative impression, and we are unlikely to patronize PlantHouse again.

I attended the Boozy Bonsai class and left feeling ripped off. I expected a better introduction to bonsai techniques, but it felt like a superficial craft session. The class began with everyone scrambling for a box of small juniper trees so if you’re not quick, you end up with a scrawny one with a thin trunk like I did. We removed the soil from the roots, only to repot it right back into basic organic soil. A quick Google search reveals that proper soil for juniper bonsai require an inorganic, porous mix (like 1:1:1 Akadama, lava rock, and pumice) to prevent root rot from excess moisture. Using regular soil is a recipe for the tree to die quickly. From there, it was just adding a few decorative rocks. There was zero instruction on essential bonsai skills like pruning, shaping, or wiring. The tree wasn’t even secured to the plastic container with wires, so it wobbles around unstably. Everything about this screamed “beginner mistake” rather than expert guidance. In the end, you’re paying premium for what amounts to a $3 nursery juniper in a $2 flimsy pot. Skip this and save your money. Look for a real bonsai workshop with the Bonsai Society of the Carolinas or do some free online research instead. Oh, and when going over the after care the instructor said to keep them indoors and did not know that junipers will die if they are not stored outdoors and require a hibernation period in the winter for them to survive.

Let's get into this review! First things first, sangria! 2 red sangrias 1 Sprite I've been before but my sons had not. The oldest (38) and the youngest (17) came along for my shenanigans. We arrived super early for our reservations but were okay to start a little early. After carefully selecting our terrariums and the airplants, we were ready to start designing. We put on our design caps and got started. We encouraged one another and chatted about "the look" we were aiming for. Here's the final look...

I was forwarded an eventbrite by a friend for their kids Halloween workshop. Our kids were classmates in Pre-K and this was an opportunity for them to meet up. When we bought our tickets, only a 1:30pm was available on Oct 19th. They then lied and sent our friends an email saying there was a scheduling conflict and the 1:30pm was no longer available. We never got such email. Our friends of course thought they were telling the truth in that there was no 1:30pm. We get there and ours friends weren't there. They were moved to 12pm and since we had no idea as we never got that email, we ended up not seeing each other after we drive at least 30 mins as we're not from the neighborhood. We are both very upset as planthouse really screwed up and lied. My kid missed soccer because we wanted to see our friends. Do better with your scheduling and capacity so you won't have to lie to customers. Pictured below is the 1:30pm workshop, with nearly a whole table in open capacity.
