Beautiful healthy plants and knowledgable staff

Awesome little shop! I was able to get a lot of plants on my wishlist, and I have a new list to save up for now. (They've got pitcher plants!) All the plants I saw appeared healthy, and their prices were reasonable. You're going to be paying more than you would at a big retailer for some items, but I think it's worth it for the quality, selection of rarer plants, and the chance to support a small business. Some of the plants are even discounted! The staff is helpful, too. They went out of their way to help me find a basket to hold my selections and to confirm that an unlabeled plant was the species I suspected it to be. I'll definitely be back.

I don't normally do my own plant replacement but since it's 2025 and the going hourly to hire it out is $300+ an hour plus the plants, I was motivated to replace three bad plants in front of our home myself. Had a great experience with Pleasant primarily due to Denny being so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Ask me about health and nutrition? Got it, good to go. Ask me about plants? As close to a zero as you can get. So I asked Denny every newbie question there is. He was great, explaining the differences between the options I was most drawn to, and how best to install the new plants. Got the plants I wanted, did it myself, saved myself a GOOD $1000 for doing so thanks to the availability of what I wanted at Pleasant and Denny's help.

I came in looking for a bonsai as a gift for my father's birthday. As I was searching through the greenhouse, I found a big, beautiful variegated jade bonsai and immediately knew it was the one. It had full, lush growth, vibrant leaves, and so much character—it was truly special. While waiting at the checkout, a man approached me and said he was going to give the bonsai a small trim and clean up the pot. I assumed he meant a light touch-up and trusted his expertise. However, he then took my tree to the back room—out of view—and when he returned, I was absolutely shocked. The plant I had chosen and fallen in love with looked completely different. It had been MUTILATED. The full, mature growth that had drawn me in (and justified the high price) had been hacked away. What was left looked nothing like the tree I had selected. I never gave consent for such an aggressive pruning, nor do I believe it was necessary. As an avid plant lover, I’m fully aware that the healthy cuttings he took from my bonsai can be propagated and sold for additional profit—meaning I paid a premium for a plant that was essentially stripped of its value right before my eyes. I feel completely taken advantage of. This experience was not only upsetting, but deeply disappointing. What should have been a joyful and meaningful gift for my father has now become a frustrating and disheartening story. I hope this message is taken seriously, because no customer should ever feel deceived or robbed of what they’ve rightfully chosen and paid for.
