Stein's Garden & Home

Yesterday, I purchased a small cemetery Christmas wreath with stand at the Stein’s location in Elm Grove. A lovely lady named Elaine checked me out at the register. When I asked her for a card to write a note to my heavenly sister who recently passed away, tears started running down my face and I was sobbing. She stopped what she was doing, told another store worker to take other buyers at the next register and came over to me to hug and console me. She then took the card I wrote, encased it in clear plastic and carefully attached it to the wreath. The time she took out of the busy Christmas shopping season to tend to my needs, of even a small purchase, and to acknowledge my grief is an example of the true spirit of Christmas. May God bless this loving and caring lady. I will always remember her kindness.

I bought the most beautiful tree two years ago.This would have been only my third christmas, but I apparently have a short in my lights- turns itself on after youve turned the tree off-and as that can be dangerous and start a fire i can't use it. I spent a lot of money on this tree.It is the same tree My daughter bought and her tree had to be replaced after the first year because her lights were bad. It's very disappointing when you spend hundreds on an artificial tree and can only use it twice.

Let me preface by saying I’m not a green thumb at all. Zero percent. But I’m trying and want to keep trying to beautify my yard. On 7/20 I bought two hanging baskets that were labeled “sun lover” and the woman in the outdoor nursery (gray shirt) said they only needed to be watered every other day. By 7/25, both baskets were dead and I didn’t know what was wrong. I brought them back to ask for help and an “expert” (red shirt) woman looked at me like I was stupid. Apparently these needed to be watered multiples times times a day, especially when it’s hot. Thankfully the manager gave me store credit (after telling me they don’t normally honor that) but I’m not sure I can show my face at this location again. She made me feel like a real idiot, and maybe I am, but like I said, I know nothing about gardening and plants 🤷🏼‍♀️I think gray shirt needs a refresher as well

I shop at this Stein’s location and have always received very good service. Elaine at the checkout is always friendly and very helpful. I also have had very good service from Ebou. He’s helped by carrying heavy to the checkout and by loading them in my car. I am 72 and have a bad back so doing these activities are not possible for me. It’s always good to receive good service with a smile!
