The Flower Farm in Gardner, KS is basically the botanical promised land. The selection of flowers is so good it feels like the plants are showing off. Everywhere you look there’s another beautiful bloom trying to steal the spotlight. And the owners? Absolute flower geniuses. The kind of people who can probably identify a plant from across the parking lot while casually giving you the best advice you’ve ever received about keeping it alive. Super cool folks, incredible flowers, and easily one of the happiest little plant paradises around.

One of my favorite places! The owner and staff are incredibly kind, the plants are beautiful, and the care they show customers truly stands out. A real gem.

The first time I visited this place I was so excited to hear about a plant store I had yet to go to that actually sold rare plants!! When I walked in the door I was greeted by Nancy. Nancy was super sweet and walked me through the store to tell me when I can and can not buy. As I’m going through the store buying two crates full of plants I see a few things that I wanted to ask about that were NOT for sale. I go ask Nancy and she tells me the owner Jeremiah will be there soon and I can ask him about it. I also learned that they do wholesale so I wanted to inquire about that, too. I waited about 25 minutes for him to come and when he gets there you can just feel the energy in the store shift! I ask him if I could possibly buy something from him off his propagation table and he tells me to show him. I showed him some pink micans that I was interested in and the price he said was just way too high so I said I would pass. He then grabs a tray of the same plant but there was only one leaf and literally throws it right on the table next to me so hard I had to jump out of the way. Again, in my opinion the price was way too high so I passed. This entire time we are talking about his wholesale program and he is talking to me like I’m stupid even saying that buying wholesale in small amounts is “and oxymoron” and a waste of his time. At this point I just want to pay and leave. When he walks away Nancy is ringing me up and just being super apologetic the entire time for the way he treated me. I tried brushing it off and chalking it up to the fact that we all have off days. So I decide to take my husband there on our only day off we have together every two weeks for part of our date day. We get there and I’m showing him the cats and pothos and cool stuff. I fill up a tray of stuff that was clearly on the tables that were for sale but some of it did not have tags, some of it did. We get to the register and Jeremiah comes up and for whatever reason he is already heated. He the starts accusing me of taking stuff off his propagation tables and switching price tags out. I try to talk to him calmly and tell him I absolutely did none of that and as he’s pacing in front of me clearly really angry tells me to show him the tables I got the plants from. I take him back and show him and rather than being humble enough to admit he was in fact wrong he starts telling me that either I moved the entire tray from his table or it grew legs and walked its self over there because he sure didn’t do it. Mind you, he is not a small man and the place is really closed off so I started to feel not safe at that point because he’s really angry. I quickly make my way to the front as he is following me I tried to assure him again that it was not me and I would just put all the stuff back but NOW he wants to sell it all. So he goes up to the register and starts telling me and Nancy the prices of stuff. I decline some and still buy most of it. He finally walks away and again Nancy is saying how sorry she is for how he is acting and how last time I left he was so apologetic for how mean he was to me. She said every time around this time of year he just gets like this during poinsettia season. I told her that I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was having an off day but this was totally not okay. The way he treated me was 100 percent uncalled for and I could NEVER imagine treating people like that especially not people that are coming in spending hundreds of dollars. You can tell that poor Nancy is growing tired of having to apologize to everyone for this man’s behavior. I will absolutely never go there again and will make sure no one I know gets put in that situation either. Looking into some of the comments, I can see that this is an issue there and rather than saying he’s sorry and being able to be grown enough to admit he was wrong he is literally arguing with these people in his reply’s to their reviews.

My wife brought me here. I am not a plant person, she is. This place was beyond confusing. The plants are beautiful and look like someone really cares, but they are not clearly labeled whether they are for sale or not. My wife went to purchase plants, she took her time trying to carefully choose plants that were actually for sale. The owner, (the original owners son) came up and was very rude. Sternly expressing that my wife had picked plants from tables that were listed as “not for sale”. My wife, took him to the exact locations where she picked the plants from(which were absolutely “for sale” tables), and instead of being humble, he then insinuated that she had moved them because he hadn’t put them in that location, saying “they must of grown legs and moved them self”. Mind you, my wife has spent 100.00 bucks each time she has visited. The ladies up front were very kind, and apologetic about the owners attitude. This place also has cats, which I really liked. The cats and the ladies up front are the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of one. Prior to writing this review I went through the negative reviews and it seems that the pricing, labeling, and negative attitude, are consistent issues with this business.

I didn’t know this gem was so close. The main tropical greenhouse is absolutely magical! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! I can’t wait to go back
