Feb 17, 2026This is so far my favorite botanical garden in CA & I’ve been to SFs , Santa Barbara and Mendocino coast. I just loved the variety of plants and I really love the tropical indoor greenhouse. I also loved all the benches and all of the Signs. Don’t forget to go across the street I was in awe over the trees and the amphitheater was so cool. The gift shop is small and I was a little sad about that but it’s OK because at least they have a small one and vs none. So much to see it took us a hour and half-ish . Also sf Is probably the runner-up.

Feb 1, 2026My timing worked out well and I was able to do a guided tour. I love plants in general and especially succulents, so I had a great time seeing and learning about many of them

Jan 30, 2026Everything was lovely and beautiful. The garden has 9 different areas, each categorized by continent or region: Southern Africa, Deserts of the Americas, Asia, Australasia, Mediterranean, South America, Mexico/Central America, Eastern North America, and California. We spent two hours exploring the garden, but we didn't have to see Mexico/Central America and California sections. The collection was really diverse. I remembered taking a plant science course at UCD, and many of the materials and pictures we used were from UC Botanical Garden. For me, it's like I finally get to see these plants in person. Highly recommended for plant lovers!
