Mar 6, 2026I had a very disappointing visit to Wannemaker’s Home and Garden. I ended up leaving without buying anything because the experience was so off-putting. When I walked in, most of the staff were gathered near the front registers talking among themselves, and instead of greeting customers they seemed to glare at people as they came through the door. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and when I looked around the store many of the items appeared to be simple 3D-printed decorations priced far higher than they seemed worth. Seeing small decorative pieces priced around $70 for what looked like basic plastic was surprising. Between the unfriendly environment and the pricing, I chose to take my business elsewhere.

Jan 25, 2026I had a very disappointing experience at Wannamaker’s and will not be returning. After spending over $400 on an olive tree, soil, and planter, I discovered an infestation that began shortly after purchase. When I went back to the store for help, they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to offer a refund or even store credit. Instead, they tried to sell me a $10 bottle of soap that they admitted may or may not work. Beyond that, there was no real guidance, advice, or effort to help resolve the issue. For a specialty nursery with premium pricing, I expected far more expertise and customer care. I strongly believe in supporting small businesses over big box stores, but this place was a complete disappointment. Between the high prices and lack of support, the value just isn’t there. I will be finding a new nursery in the spring and highly recommend others look elsewhere as well. If you’re looking for quality plants, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and customer care, Wannamaker’s is not it. Additional note: it’s interesting that wannamaker’s owner responded that they need to respond for accuracy when they were not present during the interactions I had. I can clarify. One employee spoke to me and was unsure of what the pictures showed. She brought me to the area where pest controls are and said “something from here might work” giving absolutely no guidance. I told her I didn’t want to invest in anymore product from the store if this is beyond salvageable and if that was the case, I would like to return the plant. She said she would get a manager. The manager did not identify what it was scale, I did. I also shared with her the information I learned from my own research, not the other way around. The manager said the person from nursery was out sick and she wasn’t sure what product would work but thought something systemic. She went to ask someone else, returned with a different spray product and said “it may or may not work”. I asked how likely would this be effective or is it beyond help. Again, no guidance. I asked if there was a coupon, again, not wanting to put any more money into this. She told me to check to see if I have reward points. A cashier looked into that for me and said all the point I acquired over the summer were now expired (they expire after 6 months).The manager had already left the area and never finished up the conversation. Again, not helpful, extremely overpriced, terrible return policy and reward system.

Bathroom furniture is beautiful. Removed stars for the poor quality of overpriced product $80 that broke.Please see in picture how the design is not made to resist..

Nov 23, 2025I have been a customer of Wannemakers for many years and will never step foot in the store again! Upon making a return for damaged merchandise, Jennifer Wannemaker was so disrespectful and rude. So sad that a family owned business that has been around for many years, can have one person ruin its family name and their reputation. With high prices and immature and disrespectful management, I will be shopping elsewhere.
