Warren Family Garden Center and Nursery

No trip to Warren's is less than great! They do a terrific job with presenting their plants and flowers, plus the gifts inside are arranged superbly. The most important asset they have is the people working for them. I never have to search for an employee. They are present, willing and knowledgeable.

This is my favorite local greenhouse! They always have a great selection of indoor & outdoor plants, as well as pond plants during the summer.

The Warren Family Garden Center and Nursery may be a bit of a drive for some folks in the Birmingham metro area, but it is well worth visiting. Opt to take US Hwy 78 rather than the interstate. This leisurely route will take you past the Shops of Grand River, Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro Shop. Continue east into Leeds, Alabama on Hwy 78, and enjoy some quiet and beautiful neighborhoods in Leeds as you make your final approach north on US Hwy 411. Inside the garden center you will find all kinds of unique items to adorn your home garden. Outside, the nursery is vast, and I’ve found they always seem to have the specific plants I’m looking for, even when other nurseries in Birmingham proper do not. The employees and staff have always been very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend visiting Warren Family Garden Center and Nursery!

Loved it when I first discovered it! Great selection of plants for the garden as well as houseplants. Employees are great to talk to as well as helpful. My issue is that their garden plants seems to be low quality even though they look great! I spent hundreds of dollars two years ago as well as last year, and most of them died even though I took e great care of them. One beautiful ITOH peony bought died within four months of my purchase. An Angel trumpet and a hibiscus I bought last year didn’t make it even though I protected them for the winter. Meanwhile I bought the same Angel trumpet from another nursery and it’s two feet tall already. I do love their houseplants but I’m extremely careful buying from them due to how many are loaded with mealy bugs. Stick to their annuals and you’ll be fine.

In the past, I have loved going to Warren’s nursery for my gardening needs and decorations for my yard. However, I drove from Clay today to purchase some things but a stray dog was roaming the grounds. I am afraid of dogs so I returned to my car without purchasing anything. The salesperson says it is friendly and is afraid of people. I’m sorry but dogs can be very unpredictable and they can turn on people. A stray dog shouldn't be allow to run customers away from the place of business. I guess I will have to call in advance to be sure no dogs are running around where people shop. I am very disappointed because I left Home Depot yesterday in order to shop at Warren’s today because they are so knowledgeable about plants.
