I’ve been here a few times in search of native plants, which aren’t always easy to find. They have some selection.

I got a small tree with blue lights for my home; two beautiful plants for two of my closest friends, and a beautiful plant and holiday truck for my most important friend and her nephew, I highly recommend the nurseries, especially since Cataldo’s closed shop last year.

I’ve been looking for a specific tree to plant in a tricky location. Both Jim and Bonnie were very helpful on my numerous visits to the Chelmsford location to help pick out the exact right tree.

Have purchased from them previously for three large trees. One didn’t survive past one year. When I called to ask if they could help suggest a hardier tree, I was told to check their website. I asked if they could tell me about their largest evergreen they would recommend, they said check their website. I asked if they folks tell me when in the spring they would get more shipments of evergreens so I could plan to visit, they said check their website. I chose to go to a different nursery Hopkinton Stone and Garden, which had a master gardener who was able to answer my questions and arrange delivery.

I bought a crabapple tree 4 years ago from them. It still has the tag on it saying it is a prairie fire, but when you Google pictures of it, that's not exactly what it looks like. The scientific name is not on the tag. It blossoms in blossoms in early May. It has red and green leaves. But when I bought it, there were branches growing directly out of the soil around the trunk of the tree. I didn't know what they were, so I left it. Now I have a larger tree with about 5 or 6 trunks surrounding and overgrowing the tree I originally bought. I went to cut down the trunks of the larger tree, but upon close inspection, it looks so similar that it might be another species of crabapple tree that might blossom at a later time. I don't know. It has never blossomed. It has no buds on it yet, and here we are in mid-May on a 4 year old tree. The combination of the two trees, the one in the center with dark red flowers, and the tree with bright green leaves engulfing it in my front yard is ugly, and I wish I never got myself into this problem. I live on a main road, and my intention was to beautify my neighborhood with a beautiful flowering tree. I paid $150 for the tree 4 years ago. I am left with no information and a feeling like a mistake was made at the nursery. I did call and speak with a manager a couple years ago. He was nice enough, but cannot solve my problem. I'm stuck with this issue forever until I see the house or the trees die, or I cut one down.
