Terrarium

My favourite time during my visit to Portland. You get to make your own terrarium, from choosing the plant, layering the rocks and dirt and decorating. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The price of the terrariums and plants is very good for the quality and experience. Highly recommend this place as a date idea, hang out with friends or wing it solo as I did! They also serve drinks so you can unwind and take your time while you build.

Loved it! Brought my two daughters ages 11 & 14 and we had such a great time. It was expensive but it was definitely a great family experience. The owners were hands on and very friendly.

What a hidden gem in Portland! My husband and I were strolling around looking for something to do before dinner- we ended up here by accident! Such a cool, fun & unique way to make memories with friends or partners) Rob & Katy were very friendly and helpful in assisting with our project. Bonus that you can snack & drink while your crafting :) definitely recommend if love plants and great vibes!

Such an amazing and fun place! My daughter and I just absolutely loved it. Would recommend 100%. Nothing like it anywhere else!

Did a terrarium workshop with a group to celebrate a friend's birthday and can say with confidence, I'm now addicted to the plants in this shop and had walked in as a compete novice on both plants and terrariums. Messed up my terrarium by layering substrates which i was told would cause my little ecosystem to fail and they helped me fix it and make it look so cool! Also had fun talking about Maine rocks, crystals and gems, exploring their collection for sale, learned about an upcoming Maine event out on Thompson's Point where I will hopefully join a group to go on digs next year. While perusing the vast selection of plants, I learned a bit about the "political plant", which would be worth your time to speak with staff about the story. Picked up a beautiful hanging basket of Monstera. This has been my bucket list plant forever and they are easier to take care of than I ever imagined. Please don't sleep on visiting this store. Ask questions, learn things and support this local treasure by bringing some treasures home with you. You will be so happy you did. My friend even sighted a Sasquatch for me to take home to walk among the plants in honor of my late husband. The experts working in the store know what they are doing, so you can trust their expertise and experience. Thank you, Terrarium, for being weird, wonderful , lush, and all the things!
