Mar 8, 2026I had a beautiful time at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The gardens are stunning, peaceful, and very well maintained. It’s a perfect place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the Miami area! 🌿🌺

Mar 1, 2026This place is an oasis. Beautiful, peaceful and invigorating. Not just is kept in amazing condition, the staff is super friendly, kind and well informed. Easy access, easy to walk, benches everywhere to sit and enjoy nature, something for different age groups. Price more than fair. I loved it

Mar 1, 2026INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL PLACE !!!!! My wife and I visited here for about 2.5 hours on Tuesday afternoon, February 10,2026. As a teenage kid, I used to ride a bicycle past here along Old Cutler Road when visiting relatives in Coral Gables, but never had the interest to go check it out at that young age. I wish I had, because the sheer beauty of the landscape inside the gate is somewhat breathtaking. They have a smaller paved parking lot that is adjacent to the main entrance building, and overflow parking lot that's only about 20 yards east of it. Parking is free. The entrance building is actually a beautiful mansion-sized house with a coral stone exterior. You enter the mansion and in the lobby area you find a nice gift shop and off to the right a small counter that sells pre-made sandwiches, pastries, bottled water/drinks, and fresh-made coffee drinks. To the rear of the lobby is the ticket counter. The normal admission price is 24.95 for adults, but I got a free admission since I'm a retired military vet, and my wife got $5 discount off her ticket, which I asked to be applied to their conservation fund. They do have a large 10 passenger shuttle (golf cart) that will take you around the park (83 acres) on a 1-hour guided tour, but we just missed the last one of the day and walked most of the trails here. I'm sort of glad we did the walk, as it was a perfect weather day and we could stop and dwell at any place we found to be more interesting. You could easily spend 4-6 hours here, but were on a tight schedule. In my contributor photo stack, I've attached a picture copy of the map they give you at the ticket counter, and it shows that the park is divided into a WEST and EAST sections. The WEST section is where all of the lush sub-gardens are located, as well as the glass roofed Wings of The Tropics Butterfly Farm (a must see) and a nice Glass House cafe. The EAST section is more of an open fields type layout with some large ponds and also some beautiful Coconut groves as well a few sections with some very rare palm species. We also got very close to a resident Florida Crocodile for a few photo snaps during our tour of this EAST section, as well as many fisher birds and ducks. He didn't spook when I got about 10 feet away from him, and had no apparent fear of humans, so keep that in mind if you have small children or petite-sized adults in your party. Many local area people buy annual memberships here, and it looks like a lovely place to enjoy a very relaxing weekend picnic if you bring your own basket and blanket. There are no picnic tables or shaded pavilions here, but there is plenty of shade. Most of the pathways are either paved, concrete, or hard crushed shell, so its ADA friendly. There are restrooms at the main entrance building, as well as at the Glass House Cafe in the SW corner of the property, but I didn't see any in the EAST Section, which we did not fully explore due to time constraints. I will definitely go back here the next time we visit the Miami-Dade metro area as it is such a beautiful place and a nature or landscape photographer's dream location.

Feb 26, 2026Wonderful experience for plant lovers. Get there early to get tram tickets. The volunteer who gave the tram tour was knowledgeable and interesting, and he added a lot of value to our visit. We also loved the butterfly exhibit, which was one of the best I’ve seen.

Feb 24, 2026I’ve been attending the Valentine’s Day concert at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for the past few years, and this one was definitely one of my favorites. The singer was incredibly talented, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant, romantic, and perfect for the occasion. The setup on the lawn was well organized, and we loved being able to bring our own chairs and relax comfortably. There were two bars on site with a good variety of drink options. The only area that could use some improvement is the food selection, unless you pre-ordered their picnic basket, there was only one vendor available. Overall, it was a beautiful evening and a great experience.
