An utter and complete waste of time! A good friend who is also a gardener had suggested what I was looking (Mexican Feather Grass) would most likely be found at North Haven Gardens as I'd had no luck at the Big Box stores. NHG is truly tucked away in Preston Hollow off a side street and I had high hopes that were quickly quashed. Clearly this is the Preston Hollow S&M crowd (stand & model) that is more there to be part of a scene and to hang out with their other equally pretentious neighbors. Nice (and obligatorily slow) coffee shop, people with dogs lingering over their latees, people meandering and taking up an entire aisle with their cart and no employees to be found anywhere. I wandered around (which I am sure is their goal) to try and find what I was looking for with no success. Their website is utterly and completely useless as well, listing nothing at all in what is carried, a directory, map, or anything. Other than setting yourself on fire I don't know how else you could attract attention to get help. The plants available were indeed quite nice, reasonably priced, and in good shape. But I don't need this sort of pretentious nonsense. I want someone knowledgeable who can assist. This is clearly for bored Preston Hollow housewives who want to suggest things to their gardener, taking photos of what they like while enjoying a coffee and chatting up a neighbor. This IS NOT a place for serious gardeners who want a non-nonsense approach and needless to say I will NEVER be back!

I recently visited North Haven Gardens and was very disappointed with the experience. Not a single person greeted me or asked if I needed help. One older gentleman even scowled at me, which was extremely off-putting. You won’t find a bargain here. Items are pricey so I expected a better level of service. While their selection of plants is beautiful, the lack of basic customer service made the visit frustrating. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to North Haven Gardens, nor can I recommend it to others.

I didn’t end up finding exactly what I was looking for, and it was surprisingly difficult to get assistance. Several team members seemed more engaged in discussing their weekly schedules than helping customers on the floor. That said, North Haven Gardens is still a pleasant place to visit overall. There’s plenty of parking, which is a plus, though the lack of public restrooms was inconvenient, especially after handling plants and soil. On a brighter note, I really enjoyed the calm, instrumental music playing in the greenhouse, which added a relaxing touch to the experience.

What a fun nursery! We came here to look for a plant to give to a cousin. The staff was very patient, friendly and helpful. We goti walk around and experience the whole nursery. From trees to shrubs to succulents, herbs and everything in between, this place has everything. I could not get the plant my cousin wants but left with a giftcard.

What happened to NorthHaven? It used to be the lovely neighborhood nursery, with the weird funky tea shop in the back, and the lovely ladies that would serve you sandwiches and tea. Well that’s all gone… it’s been slicked up and quite frankly has lost its soul. I moved away and came back to get a Christmas tree and the smallest tree on the lot was $179. This is absolute freaking insanity. The lovely funky tea shop has been replaced by one That only serves coffee, no more homemade food no more chicken salad just another bougie coffee place. This used to be my go to, because I come here three or four times a year and I buy flowers for my son’s grave, but I’m not coming back. It’s a sign of the times.
